Birdies

A glimpse into how to get about in this village.  You have to have wings.
At any one time I counted, 6 blackbirds, 20+ sparrows/dunnocks.  Song Thrush, chaffinch.  We also had wagtail, collared doves and variety of tits, but they flew off when I got the camera out.    Mum

Fieldfare?

Think it's a Fieldfare, none of the books I have show him with so much colour, but he's eating the remaining apples, knew there was a reason they stayed on the tree.

Frosty

This was taken a couple of weeks ago and it's frost - not snow!

Some Snow

This is the bird water bath.  Bear in mind, that we kept cleaning it off to start with, so the birdies could have a drink, then we gave up.

Ice sculpture

Lady next door found this in the woods behind the house, so we went to have a look.  Julie took the photo and there are many more, but it too so long to load up, this is your lot.

Wasp Spider - Beamsville, ON

This is what greeted me as I opened the blind on our lounge window yesterday. A rate british spider that usually builds its web in tall grass to catch grass hoppers.  It has a distinctive zigzag pattern down the centre of the web to reinforce it (it did have this yesterday but it's been torn)

Currently its eating daddy long legs, thoughtfully fed to it by David cheered on by the boys.
