Buttercups or cellandines

Tadpole in our pond

Having had many frogs in our overgrown garden over the years, we wanted a home for them as we started to give the garden it's makeover and put in a small wildlife pond.  Since then we've not seen another frog and we think that it's because they are not suited to the new style of garden.  We keep hearing people with fish ponds complaining about frog spawn and we don't have any and wanted some!!  I was with Liz on Friday who popped into her mother-in-laws who had tadpoles in her pond so we found a bucket and brought 6 or 7 back to put in our pond.  Despite the clear water and the small size, we can very rarely even spot one but managed to snap one yesterday.
